학과소개
국악과는 1982년 학과 개설 이래, 1986년 국악전공자를 위한 석사학위과정을 설치하였으며 , 2009년에는 음악학과에 국악전공 박사과정을 설치하여 열린 사고와 깊은 지식을 통해 학생들의 역량강화에 힘쓰고 있다.
국악이론/작곡/기악/성악/무용/실용국악 등 국악 전 분야에 걸쳐서 악/가/무에 관한 총체적 국악을 집중적으로 교육하고 있으며 기악분야에는 가야금, 거문고, 아쟁, 피리, 대금, 해금, 타악기, 성악분야에는 판소리, 민요, 가야금 병창, 정가 등이 있다.
본 학과는 전통 문화를 토대로 국악의 실기와 이론을 연마하여 민족음악을 전승하고 창달할 수 있는 인재 육성을 목표로 삼는다. 또한 학문적으로 국악을 연계하는 진취적인 전문음악인으로서의 자질과 교양을 갖추도록 교육하고자 한다.
Introduction
Since its establishment in 1982, the Department of Korean Music has been dedicated to enhancing the capacities of its students through open-minded thinking and expansive knowledge. In 1986, the department established a master's degree program for students majoring in Korean music, and in 2009, a doctoral program in Korean music was added to the Music Department.
The department offers intensive education across all fields of Korean music, including theory, composition, instrumental music, vocal music, dance, and practical Korean music. For instrumental music, students may study the gayageum, geomungo, ajaeng, piri, daegeum, haegeum, and various percussion instruments. Under vocal music, there are courses in pansori, folk songs, gayageum byeongchang, and jeongga.
The department aims to cultivate talents who can preserve and develop our national music by mastering the performance and theory of Korean music based on local traditional culture. Additionally, it educates students to be progressive professional musicians who possess both the qualities and the cultural refinement to academically engage with Korean music.
